Letter From Carla Coleman

Hello.

My name is Carla Coleman class of 1995.  It is hard to believe that it’s been 12 years since I have the worn the Blue and White for the Lady Lions!  It is wonderful to reconnect with all of you and to give you some information on where and what I have been doing over the last 12 years.  I am starting my 11th year as a school counselor at Harriton High School in Rosemont, Pa.  I can honestly say that I am extremely blessed to have a career that I truly enjoy.  I personally feel that there isn’t a better job out there than working with children.

I am also the Head Coach for the girl’s basketball team at my high school.  I am starting my third year as the head coach.  Last year, I decided that my team will participate in a service project each year and last year, we raised over a 1000 dollars for the Hurricane Katrina Victims.  This year, we will be raising money for Breast Cancer.  I am extremely excited about this service project because of the many people that I know who have been affected by Breast Cancer.  The girls will be wearing pink shoe laces all season and we will be collecting names during the season of those who are survivors and those who have a name of a loved one who passed away.  On our last home page, we will be displaying that banner with all the names that we have collected during our season.  But my Athletic Director has gone a step further.  He has ordered pink uniforms for the girls to wear on January 24th at our last home game.  This will be an exciting day for our program and the girls are eager to get started.  To be a member of my team, the girls know that they have to have a commitment to service.   It is something that I learned while I was member of the Lady Lion Basketball Program and it something that I will continue instill in my program.
