Edie Hall Cancer Walk

The Cancer Walk is held in October in memory of Edie Hall. Join the team, staff, and everyone else interested in raising funds for the local chapter of the American Cancer Society. We will be walking for 2 hours in the Multi-Sport Facility on the Penn State University Park Campus. Each player has a sponsor from the club responsible for raising money in the name of that player. The money raised is donated to Coaches-vs-Cancer through the American Cancer Society.

2009-10 Cancer Walk

The 11th annual Lady Lion Cager Club Cancer Walk in honor of Edie Hall will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at the Indoor Multi-Sports Complex.

The 2-hour walk begins at 1:00 p.m.

Immediately following the walk in the Indoor Multi-Sports Complex is a Potluck Picnic. Please bring a covered dish to share. The club will provide meat trays, beverages, and place settings.

Parking is available near the indoor track.

Each team member and coach is assigned a volunteer captain from the Lady Lion Cager Club. The volunteer captain helps to raise money in the name of the player or coach from donations and sponsors. All money raised from the walk is donated to Coaches-vs-Cancer through the American Cancer Society.

Captains are still needed for players and coaches. Contact Rachel Rito at rar240@psu.edu to sign up as a captain or make a donation to support the Cancer Walk.

Come and join the team, coaches and club members on the 2-hour walk. This is good opportunity to become acquainted with the new team members and renew old friendships from last year. If you are unable to walk, please come and sit in the stands and cheer on the walkers. See everyone on October 11th at the Multi-Sports Complex!
